privacy policy
Effective date: 2026-05-15
Last updated: 2026-05-15
This Privacy Policy describes how NoseBleed ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the NoseBleed mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
NoseBleed is operated by Mark Angelo Baricante, a sole proprietor based in the Philippines.
Contact: support@nosebleed.app
For privacy-specific requests, please write to privacy@nosebleed.app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the App. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
2.1 Information you provide when signing in
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a minimal account identifier (such as your email address or a private Apple relay email) along with a unique user ID. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.
We also store the profile information you create inside the App (such as your username, bio, and avatar image, if you set them).
2.2 Information about your subscription
If you purchase a NoseBleed Pro subscription, our subscription provider (RevenueCat) and Apple's App Store process the transaction. We receive your subscription status (active, lapsed, restored) so we can grant you access to paid features. We do not receive or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple.
2.3 Information you create in the App
When you record a practice video, the video file is stored locally on your device. We do not upload your recordings to any server.
We do store anonymous usage stats that power features like your streak counter, points, and global leaderboard rank — these are tied to your account but do not include the content of your recordings.
2.4 Permissions the App requests
To work, NoseBleed asks for the following permissions. None of them send data off your device unless the matching feature is used:
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Camera | To record your practice videos. |
| Microphone | To capture audio during recording. |
| Photo Library | To save practice videos to your camera roll when you choose to. |
| Notifications | To send you optional reminders (you can disable these in iOS Settings). |
2.5 Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your contacts.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs at this time.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate you when you sign in
- Provide and improve the App's features (profile, leaderboard, streak tracking)
- Process your subscription and grant access to paid features
- Send you optional notifications you've opted into
- Respond to support requests
- Protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. Third Parties We Share Data With
We share the minimum necessary information with a small number of trusted service providers, each of which has its own privacy policy:
| Provider | What they do for us | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | Account sign-in (Sign in with Apple), in-app subscription billing, notifications | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Account sign-in (Sign in with Google) | policies.google.com/privacy | |
| Supabase | Authentication backend, profile + leaderboard data storage | supabase.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management and entitlement tracking | revenuecat.com/privacy |
We share data with these providers only to the extent needed to operate the corresponding feature.
5. Where Your Data Is Stored
- Recordings: stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded.
- Account + profile data: stored on Supabase's infrastructure, which may process data in regions outside your country. By using the App you consent to this transfer.
- Subscription data: processed by Apple and RevenueCat in accordance with their policies.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account (see Section 7), we will delete your account and associated profile data within a reasonable period, and your local recordings will be wiped from your device by the account-deletion flow.
We may retain certain limited data for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and compliance with legal obligations.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access your account data
- Correct inaccurate information (you can edit your profile in the App)
- Delete your account — use Settings → Delete Account in the App. This permanently removes your account and on-device recordings. (Note: deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Apple subscription — you must cancel that separately in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.)
- Withdraw consent to optional features (e.g. notifications) at any time via iOS Settings
- Contact us with any privacy question: privacy@nosebleed.app
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with similar laws (e.g. GDPR), you also have the right to data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to non-discrimination. We do not sell personal information.
8. Children
NoseBleed is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area, where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact privacy@nosebleed.app and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and authentication via Apple and Google's identity systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (such as an in-app message or email). Continued use of the App after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
